A two-partner studio. By design.
Every brief runs through Anya and Marcus — never a junior, never a handoff. We take a limited number of projects each year so we can do them properly. This is the rule, not the constraint.
Anya Sterling
Anya leads identity and creative direction at OCHRE. Her work sits at the intersection of typography, materiality, and the rituals of brand experience — shaped by editorial design and heritage rebrand work across London and Singapore.
She co-founded OCHRE in 2026 to do this work on terms she chooses. Her studio practice is informed by years spent close to the materials of design — paper stocks, foil weights, the four-a.m. light through a hotel lobby — and she remains stubborn about what each of those should feel like.
She believes a brand is read first by a hand reaching for it, and only afterwards by an eye.

Marcus Chen
Marcus directs brand strategy and digital systems at OCHRE. His work spans hospitality, finance, and the family-owned businesses of Asia — engagements where the long arc of value usually outruns the marketing brief.
He co-founded OCHRE in 2026 as a quieter alternative to agency-scale work. He thinks about brand the way an architect thinks about a building — load-bearing decisions made early, in private, that hold the whole structure for decades.
He believes positioning is what survives the meeting that goes wrong, not what shines in the meeting that goes well.
LinkedInSingapore. Working with Asia.
We're based in Singapore and work with founders, hospitality groups and family businesses across Southeast Asia and beyond. Brand systems are designed for permanence — so location is the start, not the limit.
We meet by appointment. We work by appointment. The studio operates one client per partner at a time — which is unusual, and which is the point.
Why "Ochre"?
Ochre means raw earth, ancient pigment, the first mark ever made. The cave painters at Lascaux used it more than seventeen thousand years ago, because it was what they had — the colour of conviction before refinement.
The tension between the raw and the precise is exactly where our work lives.
Two partners. One client per partner at a time. Six engagements a year. The math is intentional.
