Hi, I'm Emy
I'm a financial advisor. But not the kind who'll cold-call you at 7pm.

I write about money, life, and the chaos in between. If you want a friend who happens to know what to do with your CPF, your bonus, or the ILP your aunty sold your mum, you're in the right place.

A bit about me

I'm a planner, a worrier, and a hopeless optimist about other people's futures.

I grew up in a household where money was either a fight or a silence. No spreadsheets, no plans. Just hoping the next month worked out. I became a financial advisor because I wanted my friends, my family, and the people I meet for kopi to never feel that way.

These days I work with young Singaporeans who are earning real money for the first time and quietly panicking about it. BTO. Wedding. Baby. Parents getting older. I help untangle all of it.

My Story

Past, present, and a future I'm still drawing.

Three chapters of a long story. The short version of where I came from, what I'm doing right now, and what I'm working toward.

past
Then · 2010s

The kid who counted angbao money twice.

I grew up watching my parents stretch every dollar. I learned what it looked like when money was tight, and what it cost in stress, in arguments, in opportunities missed. That's the chip on my shoulder.

now
Today · 2026

Helping young SG families build a real plan.

I split my weeks between coffee chats, policy reviews, and writing about money in plain English. My clients are mostly people in their late 20s and 30s figuring out the BTO → wedding → baby → parents arc. I'm in it with them.

later
Soon · 2027 onwards

A community where money talk isn't taboo.

I'm building toward small-group sessions, a podcast, and a journal that hopefully outlives me. The bigger goal: change how Singaporean women in particular talk about money. Openly, without shame, with each other.

"Money is just frozen choices. The job is to thaw the right ones at the right time."

Want to chat? I'd love that.

30 minutes. No pitch. Just questions. The first one is on me.
